Stephane Sokeng is a Senior Lecturer of English Language and Applied Linguistics. She holds a PhD in English Language and Linguistics, a Diplome d Etudes Approfondies (DEA) in English Language, a Master of Arts (MA) in English Language and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Bilingual Letters (English and French) from the University of Yaounde I (Cameroon). She is currently a lecturer at the department of Bilingual studies in the Faculty of Arts, Letters and Social Sciences, University of Yaounde I. Her research interests include language teaching and learning, bilingualism, bilingual education, language proficiency, ESL/EFL/TESOL instruction, code switching and mixing, with a particular interest on digital pedagogies which integrate Information and Communication Tools (ICT) in the teaching and learning of second/foreign languages. She has attended seminars on the implementation of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) in higher education (MOOCS4Development) at the Advanced School of Engineering, Yaounde from February 2018 to March 2019 and is presently working in a team for a MOOC in English for Francophones. She has also attended seminars at the Higher Teacher Training College (ENS) in Yaounde on a Digital Certificate Programme which focuses on empowering teachers on how to integrate ICT pedagogic tools in teaching/learning processes through learning management systems, and she is now part of the CerTNum team as a trainer since 2019. She has published scientific articles in her area of specialization and has (co)supervised some Master’s dissertations in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the award of Second Grade Teaching Diplomas and in the professional Master in Translation respectively.
