Prof. Napoleon Epoge is an Associate Professor of English Language and Linguistics. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in English Language and Linguistics, a Diplôme d’Etudes Approfondies (DEA) in English Language and Linguistics, a Master of Arts (MA) in English Language and Sociolinguistics, a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English Modern Letters, and a DIPES I & DIPES II in English Language and Literature in English Teaching, from the University of Yaounde I. He has a perfect Mastery of the following academic fields: English Syntax, English Morphology, English Grammar, Meaning and Usage in English, English Speech and Usage, English Language Teaching (ELT), Craft of Editing, Second Language Acquisition, and Research Methodology. With regard to capacity building, he has acquired the following skills in administration: Strategic Planning and Management, Methodology and Techniques of Internal Auditing, Administrative Drafting and Oral Communication in English, Internal Control and Evaluation, Result-Based Management and Programme-budgetting, Financial Management Procedure, and Organisational Techniques and Methods of Simplifying Administrative work. He has held the following positions in the Cameroon Higher Education: Service Head at the Ministry of Higher Education in charge of the coordination and follow-up of the academic activities of Higher Education Institutions with Special Status under the Academic Supervisory Authority of the Ministry of Higher Education (2012-2014), Head of Division for Training and Internship at the College of Technology of the University of Bamenda (2014-2015), Inspector of Administration (Inspecteur des Services) No3 at the Ministry of Higher Education (2015-2017), and Director of Financial Affairs at the University of Buea (2017 –Present). He is a member of the Higher Education Teaching and Learning Association (HETL). His research fields include: Applied and Theoretical Linguistics, English Morpho-syntax, Meaning and Usage in English, Features of the Learner Language in ESL/EFL Contexts, New Englishes, and Sociolinguistics. As a full-time university lecturer in the University of Yaounde I, he has published many peer-reviewed scientific articles at home and abroad in the field of English language and linguistics, and sociolinguistics.
